Provincial Secondary School, Ganye, was established in 1958 during Nigeria’s pre-independence era. The school was founded to serve the educational needs of the Adamawa region, which was then part of the former Northern Region of Nigeria. Ganye, a town known for its rich cultural heritage, was chosen as the site due to its strategic location as the administrative center of the Ganye Chiefdom.
